Anne Yeremiyew est née en Isère, la troisième d’une fratrie de six enfants. D’une enfance française itinérante la conduisant jusqu’à Paris, elle gardera une grande flexibilité ainsi qu’un goût affirmé pour le voyage.
Анна Єреміїв народилася в Ізері, третьою з шести дітей. З дитинства, проведеного у кочовому французькому середовищі, яке привело її до Парижа, вона зберегла велику гнучкість та сильний смак до подорожей.
Anne Yeremiyew was born in Isère, the third of six children. From a nomadic French childhood that took her to Paris, she retained great flexibility and a strong taste for travel.
La culture ukrainienne occupe une place prépondérante dans ses inspirations créatrices ; bercée dans la langue et les traditions ukrainiennes depuis sa plus tendre enfance, elle s’est construite une identité artistique nourrie de folklore, de couleurs, de saveurs, de l’âme en somme de la culture de son pays d’origine.
Українська культура займає чільне місце в її творчих джерелах натхнення; занурена в українську мову та традиції з раннього дитинства, вона сформувала художню ідентичність, що живиться фольклором, кольорами, смаками, одним словом, душею культури своєї країни походження.
Ukrainian culture occupies a prominent place in her creative inspirations; having been immersed in the Ukrainian language and traditions since her earliest childhood, she has built an artistic identity nourished by folklore, colours, flavours, in short, the soul of the culture of her country of origin.
Depuis toujours attirée par l’art en tant que mode d’expression, elle se consacre en premier lieu à la danse folklorique, en participant au ballet Tchoumak pendant plus de dix ans. Elle y apprendra l’importance de la précision du geste, se laissant toujours une part de liberté, essentielle à la grâce artistique.
Завжди тяжіючи до мистецтва як форми самовираження, вона спочатку присвятила себе народному танцю, беручи участь у балеті «Чумак» понад десять років. Там вона зрозуміла важливість точних рухів, завжди дозволяючи собі певну свободу, необхідну для художньої грації.
Always drawn to art as a form of expression, she initially dedicated herself to folk dance, participating in the Tchoumak ballet for over ten years. There she learned the importance of precise movement, while always allowing herself a degree of freedom, essential to artistic grace.
Diplômée des Beaux Arts de Paris, c’est vers la gravure qu’elle se tourne en premier lieu, illustrant des contes pour enfants et des scènes folkloriques ukrainiennes. En parallèle, elle participe comme guide touristique à de nombreux voyages à travers le monde, notamment en Ukraine (alors partie intégrante de l’URSS) qu’elle découvre pour la première fois.
Випускниця паризької школи витончених мистецтв, вона спочатку займалася гравюрою, ілюструючи дитячі казки та українські народні сцени. Водночас вона брала участь як екскурсовод у численних подорожах світом, зокрема до України (тоді невід’ємної частини СРСР), яку відкривала для себе вперше.
A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Paris, she initially turned to engraving, illustrating children’s stories and Ukrainian folk scenes. At the same time, she participated as a tour guide on numerous trips around the world, notably to Ukraine (then an integral part of the USSR), which she was discovering for the first time.
Elle s’oriente ensuite vers un autre médium, lui permettant une liberté totale de création : la peinture. Explorant une palette riche et contrastée, elle ose des mélanges de techniques audacieuses, portée par des gestes tantôt minutieux, tantôt amples et spontanés. Naturellement, sa démarche la conduit vers l’abstraction, qui lui offre de quoi exprimer réflexions et ressentis sur des thématiques personnelles ou plus universelles.
Потім вона звернулася до іншого засобу, що давав їй повну творчу свободу: живопису. Досліджуючи багату та контрастну палітру, вона наважувалася поєднувати сміливі техніки, керуючись жестами, які були часом ретельними, іноді широкими та спонтанними. Природно, її підхід вів її до абстракції, яка пропонувала їй засоби для вираження роздумів та почуттів на особисті або більш універсальні теми.
She then turned to another medium, allowing her complete creative freedom: painting. Exploring a rich and contrasting palette, she dared to combine bold techniques, guided by gestures that were sometimes meticulous, sometimes broad and spontaneous. Naturally, her approach led her towards abstraction, which offered her the means to express reflections and feelings on personal or more universal themes.
Empreinte d’émotion et d’empathie, sa peinture lumineuse aspire à célébrer cette soif de vie et d’espérance en chacun d’entre nous, que l’artiste décèle avec sensibilité même dans les contextes les plus rudes. Particulièrement affectée par les événements en Ukraine depuis Maïdan en 2013 jusqu’à l’invasion à grande échelle que le pays combat depuis 2022, Anne Yeremiyew nous invite dans ses œuvres à questionner aussi notre rapport au passé ainsi que notre regard vers l’autre, proche ou lointain.
Сповнені емоцій та співпереживання, її яскраві картини прагнуть підкреслити спрагу життя та надію в кожному з нас, яку художниця чуйно розпізнає навіть за найсуворіших обставин. Глибоко вражена подіями в Україні, від Майдану 2013 року до широкомасштабного вторгнення, проти якого країна бореться з 2022 року, Анна Єреміїв у своїх роботах запрошує нас і поставити під сумнів наше ставлення до минулого та наше сприйняття інших, близьких і далеких.
Imbued with emotion and empathy, her luminous paintings aspire to celebrate the thirst for life and hope within each of us, which the artist sensitively discerns even in the harshest circumstances. Deeply affected by the events in Ukraine, from Maidan in 2013 to the large-scale invasion the country has been fighting against since 2022, Anne Yeremiyew invites us in her works to also question our relationship to the past and our perception of others, near and far.
